Browning X-Bolt 2 Hell’s Canyon McMillan LR Bolt Action Rifle

The barrel characteristics of the new Browning X-Bolt 2 Hell’s Canyon McMillan LR make it a great weapon for long-range practice as well as hunting. For increased bullet velocities, the fluted heavy sporter contour barrels’ lengths have been adjusted to run 2″ longer than typical lengths (up to 26″). The muzzle is prepared for use with an optional suppressor and has a 5/8″-24 thread. The Hell’s Canyon LR comes with a thread protector cover and a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake. For reliable accuracy, the barrel is free-floating and the action is bedded.

With the new Plus Magazine system, the Speed LR offers more magazine capacity, whether you’re a hunter or an aspiring competitor. It makes use of our exclusive Plus Magazine, which has an expanded single stack construction and can store five or six rounds, depending on the cartridge. The Plus Magazine system keeps the X-Bolt rotary magazine’s shoulder holding feature and center feed design, two characteristics that guard against damage to the magazine’s bullet tips during recoil or loading into the chamber. The Plus Magazine system features a handy side-mounted release mechanism that makes insertion and ejection simple.

The Cerakote Smoked Bronze finish is applied to the redesigned action and barrel for metal protection that exceeds traditional bluing or stainless steel.

The Hell’s Canyon McMillan SR features a Game Scout stock that is constructed from a rugged fiberglass composite material and precision machined for an exact fit. Machined-in aluminum pillars ensure the action fits perfectly. Bedding at the action screws and recoil lug free floats the barrel for consistent accuracy. Versatility is key for the Game Scout design, with the trim lines of a fine hunting stock coupled with the vertical grip and wider fore-end of a benchrest rifle. A premium Pachmayr Decelerator pad soaks up felt recoil.
